The Middle East has long looked at the West for inspiration, following its culture, trends and themes. Curse of the East seeks to embolden it’s own culture, weaving the beauty of the Middle East as seen through the designer’s eyes into his new collection to celebrate our own creativity. He wanted to celebrate the things he loves about Lebanon: its colors, its boldness, its power. It folds in the magic and colors of Beirut, which persist despite the horrors it lived through during 2020.

We live in a time where surface prevails and affect is waning. People are becoming more robotic and human connections are run down. We are so virtually connected but live in such isolation from each other and from ourselves. We tend to run away from being in the moment, from being genuine. There is no longer room for emotion. Love, happiness, joy, sadness, freedom…these emotions we suppress are the building blocks of life. These feelings drive us and provide depth, grounding and connection. I want this collection to move people to feel, to be real. It is a vibrant reminder to be present, to be here in all its form and color.
